Meg Glover is originally from Manchester, where she first picked up the saxophone aged 9 and later studied at the Junior RNCM. Meg went on to study saxophone at the RWCMD with Gerard McChrystal and Lara James, graduating in 2022. Since graduating, Meg has made her concerto debut with RWCMD Symphony Orchestra at St David’s Hall in Cardiff, performing Tomasi’s Saxophone Concerto. In 2023 she made her orchestral debut with BBC NOW and was invited to perform Milhauds’ Scaramouche with Brecknock Sinfonia. Meg was one of 2023’s Music in Country Churches featured artists, performing a recital with esteemed accompanist Catherine Milledge. She recently joined Catherine for a recital at Beulah Chapel, Cardiff, as part of the Concerts at the Crossroads series.
Meg is currently studying saxophone at the Royal College of Music with Kyle Horch and Martin Robertson and is very grateful for support from The Ann Driver Trust. This year’s highlights include winning the college concerto competition with Dubois’ Saxophone concerto and recently performing the work with Martyn Brabbins and RCM Philharmonic as well as performing at Wigmore Hall alongside Ensemble 360 in January. Meg’s studies are generously backed by The Charlotte Fraser Foundation, Help Musicians Postgraduate Awards, The Drake Calleja Trust, The Countess of Munster Musical Trust and the Sir James Caird Travelling Scholarships Trust.
Meg is a passionate educator, before starting her masters she was based at Wells Cathedral School where she was immersed in all aspects of the music department. Alongside her studies, she teaches woodwind for Lewisham and Southwark music services and has the pleasure of running St Paul’s Cathedral School’s clarinet ensemble and working with the school’s choristers.
