At the heart of this programme lies a simple idea: that love and longing are never experienced in just one way. Carefully curated around this theme, each work
represents a different facet of these universal emotions, revealing how composers across generations have transformed affection, hope, memory, loss, and longing into music.

Joanna Kacperek

Praised for the beauty of her sound and ability to connect deeply with audiences, Joanna Kacperek has established an international career as both a soloist and chamber musician.

She has performed throughout Europe, Canada, and Japan, appearing with ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Lviv Virtuosos Chamber Orchestra. In 2025 she had the honour of performing for HRH King Charles III during his visit to London’s Polish Social and Cultural Association.

Joanna’s debut solo album ‘Variations’ was released in 2024 with Rubicon Classics. The CD received enthusiastic reviews (Pianist, International Piano, ArtMuse
London) and has been featured on the Polish National Radio (Program Drugi Polskiego Radia). Her second solo album, In Plain Sight, released in May 2026, has attracted international attention from broadcasters and critics alike. Joanna appeared as a guest on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, and the album also received
coverage from Austria’s ORF, ABC Classic in Australia, RNZ Concert in New Zealand, Polish Radio 2 and Classical California and WMNR Fine Arts radios in the USA. The album entered the UK Official Classical Chart and received critical acclaim in the press (BBC Music Magazine, Gramophone, Music Web International).

Joanna is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the special prize at the Edvard Grieg Piano Competition in Bergen and the Titanic Memoriam Pianist Prize at the Lies Askonas Competition. A finalist at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition in London, she also won the II International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition, the B. Smetana Competition in Pilsen, and the M. Magin Competition in Paris.

In 2024 Joanna debuted at Wigmore Hall, where she won the ‘Jean Meikle Prize’ for best duo with Clara Barbier Serrano at the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition. Their duo has also been awarded the second prize at the International Hugo Wolf Competition in Stuttgart and the second prize, audience prize and ‘La Belle Saison’ prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Lyon. Clara and Joanna regularly perform together at major European festivals.

Joanna graduated with honours from the Royal College of Music in London, where she studied with Prof. Norma Fisher. She also holds a Masters degree from the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she studied with Prof. Ewa Pobłocka and Prof. Maja Nosowska.
