All Profits to support emerging local young musicians at St Nicholas Church. We are grateful to Charlotte Fraser for additional sponsorship for the musicians.

William Hammond is a clarinettist currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is grateful to be supported by the Margaret Booth Award, Boise Scholarship, and the Charlotte Fraser Foundation, which allows him to fully apply himself to his studies. As both a soloist and chamber musician, he is establishing a varied and expansive career, performing repertoire ranging from the classical canon to contemporary works. In February, he was awarded “Very Highly Commended” in the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Prize, adjudicated by Julian Bliss.

William has performed with the BBC Concert Orchestra, English Touring Opera, and is on the extra list for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Also, he had the privilege of working with Sir Mark Elder in the RAM Symphony Orchestra, performing Strauss’ gigantic Also Sprach Zarathustra and Till Eulenspiegel in November 2024. Equally at home in chamber settings, he is a founding member of the Regent’s Wind Quintet, formed at the Academy, who recently placed in the RAM Wind Ensemble Prize.

William would like to express his deepest thanks to the Charlotte Fraser Foundation for their continued support and the opportunity to perform at St Nicholas’ Church.

George Herbert was born in Manchester in 2001. He is studying for an MA in Ensemble Piano at the Royal Academy of Music with Professors Michael Dussek and James Baillieu, where he is a scholarship recipient and a member of the Academy Song Circle. He is a Leeds Song Young Artist and a participant in the Wigmore Hall’s French Song Exchange. George studied German and Music at the University of Cambridge, and looks forward to upcoming recitals with singers and instrumentalists at the Wigmore Hall, the Salle Cortot in Paris and Hallwyska in Stockholm.

He is kindly supported by the Choir Association of St John’s College, Cambridge.
