Jasper Perry – Clarinet

Jasper Perry graduated his Bachelor’s degree in clarinet with first class honours in 2022 and is currently undertaking his Masters of Performance both at the Royal College of Music. Jasper is very grateful to be supported Charlotte Fraser Foundation and is the Wilkins-Mackerras Award Holder. His is learning under Peter Sparks, Richard Hosford and Marie Lloyd, as well as Paul Richards. It is at RCM that Jasper has explored a variety of orchestral settings ranging from Mahler’s first symphony conducted by Antonio Pappano to Disney’s film scores with Ben Palmer and a side-by-side project with the Philharmonia.

Jasper is a member of the London Firebird Orchestra performing at St George’s, Hanover Square, and regularly playing with the Ibiza Orchestra Symphonica. Prior to his studies, Jasper performed with the National Youth Wind Orchestra, touring the UK and Switzerland, and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain with a highlight of performing Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the left hand at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. He also played the bass clarinet as the Zenaida Piontkovsky Memorial Scholar with the Berlin Opera Academy, performing Operas by Humperdinck and Puccini.

As soloist Jasper has performed in a number of masterclasses, including John Veale’s Clarinet Concerto with Maximiliano Martin and Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsodie with Anthony McGill. In chamber music Jasper has explored a number of diYerent ensembles from wind quintets and trios to Clarinet Quintets. Performing Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet and Mozart’s Clarinet quintet in a masterclass by Robert Plane.

Iain Clarke – Piano

Iain is originally from the Isle of Arran in Scotland and has been the Royal College of Music’s Gilbert and Eileen Edgar and Anthony Saltmarsh collaborative pianist since September 2022, working with their woodwind, brass and percussion departments. He works collaboratively and orchestrally around the UK and abroad, with notable partnerships including saxophonist Richard Scholfield, cellist Lavinnia Rae, horn player Olivia Gandee, and frequent orchestral work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (including tours to Poland and Belgium), the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. His debut album recording of the Concerto for Two Pianos (Eight Hands) and Wind Quintet by Malcolm Williamson is due to be released late 2024 / early 2025.

He has performed extensively across the UK in venues including Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Snape Maltings, Usher Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Recent and upcoming chamber highlights include recitals at Wigmore Hall with horn player Olivia Gandee, St Martin-in-the-Fields with saxophonist Richard Scholfield, recitals for the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Foundling Museum and a tour of Scotland in early 2024 with Richard Scholfield. Iain is a double graduate of the Royal College of Music, from the Collaborative Piano Artist Diploma, and the Master of Performance. He studied Bachelor of Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating with First Class Honours.
