Iain Clarke – Piano
Iain is originally from the Isle of Arran in Scotland and has been the Royal College of Music’s Gilbert and Eileen Edgar and Anthony Saltmarsh collaborative pianist since September 2022, working with their woodwind, brass and percussion departments. He works collaboratively and orchestrally around the UK and abroad, with notable partnerships including saxophonist Richard Scholfield, cellist Lavinnia Rae, horn player Olivia Gandee, and frequent orchestral work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra (including tours to Poland and Belgium), the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. His debut album recording of the Concerto for Two Pianos (Eight Hands) and Wind Quintet by Malcolm Williamson is due to be released late 2024 / early 2025.
He has performed extensively across the UK in venues including Barbican Hall, Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Snape Maltings, Usher Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Recent and upcoming chamber highlights include recitals at Wigmore Hall with horn player Olivia Gandee, St Martin-in-the-Fields with saxophonist Richard Scholfield, recitals for the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Foundling Museum and a tour of Scotland in early 2024 with Richard Scholfield. Iain is a double graduate of the Royal College of Music, from the Collaborative Piano Artist Diploma, and the Master of Performance. He studied Bachelor of Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating with First Class Honours.
