A guided tour of the extensive collections, library and archive of the Linnean Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, on Monday 3 October at 2.00pm. Founded in 1778, this is the world’s oldest active natural history society. Its extensive collections, library and archive are based on the collections of the eminent Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus (1707-78). The cost of this tour will be £20 per head. There are still a few places left on the group, which are now open to anyone, whether a member of the Friends or not. A visit to the Sipsmith’s distillery on Cranbrook Road W4, on Monday 7 November at 6.30pm. Sipsmith’s will give an introduction to gin distilling and to our local distillery, and there will be opportunities to sample some of their products. The charge for this tour will be £25 per head. There are still a few places left on the group, now open to anyone, whether Friends or not.
