26th November 2020

Dear Friends

As I write this it looks like we will be allowed back into church on Sunday 6 December, which is brilliant news. Therefore the pattern will be as pre-lockdown:

8.00 am Mass. Online only
9.30 am Parish Mass with Music
11.00 am Children’s Mass.

Our children and some adults have been working incredibly hard to present this years Nativity – “We are living in unprecedented times”. As some of you may know I was hoping we could perform this work outside for the whole community of Old Chiswick. Unfortunately, that’s not going to be possible, so we will be on Zoom more details to follow next week.

As for our normal Christmas services, well, again there has had to be some changes.

Our Service of 9 Lessons and Carols will be held at 6.00pm on Sunday 20 December. This service has been amended to satisfy the requirements of no public singing, so it will be a service of readings and music. This service will be online and in person, tickets will be required.

Our Crib Service which as you know is normally at 4.00pm on Christmas Eve, will now be held on Sunday 20th December at 11am. It will be by ticket only, and online, more details next week.

There will be no service of Carols and Readings at 11.00pm on Christmas Eve, Midnight Mass has as a result, been moved to the slightly earlier time of 11.00pm.
.
Our Christmas Morning Mass will be at the usual time of 10.30am. Both of these services will be online and by ticket only, if you wish to attend in person

To satisfy the requirements of adequate social distancing we have concluded that we can hold a maximum of 67 people in the Nave. Musicians and choir as long as they remain in the choir and sanctuary are additional to the 67 and our 3 clergy are excluded from the total.

For all of these service tickets will be available on Eventbrite next week.

These are indeed unprecedented and extraordinary times, I hope and pray that with the distribution of a vaccine in 2021 a more normal future is in store for the latter part of 2021.

In the meantime please take care and stay safe.

God Bless

Simon
