Dear Friends

It was good to get away for a break, I have to say that I don’t think I have ever seen the Shropshire countryside looking so beautiful. It was interesting to talk to people who were holidaying in Shropshire for the very first time, they all expressed their delight in Shropshires beauty. We didn’t want to break the spell by telling them that sometimes the county can be very wet. I hope that all of you are able to get away for a break sometime this year.

It was disappointing not to be able to come out of restrictions this month, but I’m afraid, I for one expected the news. It is difficult attempting to plan anything at the moment, we still need to be cautious. That said, we will be hosting our first event this Sunday – a socially distanced Sunday afternoon concert and tea. The wonderful news is that it is sold out and I hope it will provide us all with a much needed tonic. A chat with him upstairs for fine weather on Sunday might also be a help – just a hint!

Church remains open every day, we will continue with our pattern of Sunday and weekday services until September, hoping that by then we will be able to look forward to the final few months of 2021 as a period of relative normality. The “final few months of 2021” my goodness how time flies!

God Bless

Simon

P.S. Don’t forget our Pet Blessing Service on Sunday 11th July at 3pm, it would be wonderful to see you and your pet in church.
