A message from your Churchwardens
We certainly do live in uncertain times and like many of you we at St Nicks are having to make some changes to our plans for Christmas. Fr Simon has tested positive for COVID and will be self-isolating until Monday 27th December and as a result you will see some minor changes to the services over the Christmas period. We can reassure you that Fr Simon is not severely ill and I’m sure you will join us in wishing him a speedy recovery.
Together with Mother Eileen and Fr Alan we will do our very best to make sure that our services are held safely and that we all share in the joy that Christmas brings.
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the services with social distancing we will be adding chairs to the north and south aisles to increase our capacity and to improve ventilation we will open the west door. Very regrettably if more people arrive than we can accommodate we may have to turn people away. This isn’t something we will undertake lightly but we feel peoples’ safety is paramount. Facemasks must be worn.
We have also had to take the decision that on Sunday 26th December there will only be one service, this will be the 10.30 Mass and will be a said service. We sincerely apologise to people that attend the 8am Mass that this won’t be going ahead but with more limited resources we have had to make some difficult decisions.
We wish you a very Happy Christmas and a healthy 2022.
