Dear Friends

Fr Simon and I travelled with a group of pilgrims to Walsingham on Monday. We received a warm welcome for our first Eucharist at the church of St Mary the Virgin, Lakenheath in Suffolk. It is a fascinating church, parts of which date back to the twelfth century. Highlights include some splendid wall paintings, carved wooden angels on the nave roof, and much more besides.

We are now staying at the Anglican Shrine in Walsingham, joining in worship with pilgrims from all over the country, enjoying our beautiful surroundings and visiting local places on interest. We are praying particularly for all those people who have been affected in any way by the terrible fire in Grenfell Tower. Our group is also spending this week reflecting on the role of Mary in the scriptures.

We return from Walsingham on Friday and look forward to meeting up on Saturday morning in Sunbury with all those planning to do our sponsored walk.

With every blessing

Mother Eileen
