Well they do say that actions speak louder than words, if that’s the case then Pope Francis visit to Lesbos was a triumph. Not for rhetoric, but the simple act of taking twelve Muslim people back to the Vatican. They fled violence, hopelessness and persecution and have now found security and hopefully the possibility of a new and more peaceful life. It was also so good to see Catholic and Orthodox leaders united in their support for the vulnerable and persecuted. This is the Church at its best. When people ask what the resurrection looks like, just direct them to this simple act. In Christ darkness is turned into light
There is a lot going on in the next few months, so here is a reminder of some of our events:
Fr Andrew’s Induction on Wednesday 4 May at 7.30pm. Our coach will leave promptly at 5.45pm from the 190 bus stop near the convent.
The Friends AGM and Choral evensong is on Sunday 8 May at 6pm. If you want to sing in the choir please be at church for a rehearsal at 4.30pm.
On Sunday 5 June at 6pm at Choral Evensong, Eileen McGregor will be licensed as our new Associate Vicar. It would be good to see you there to welcome Eileen as she begins her ministry among us.
On Sunday 12 June in the afternoon, the residents of Chiswick Mall are holding an alternative Mall party in aid of our Development Appeal, do keep the date in your diary.
Our Summer Sizzler Party and Dinner will be held on Friday 24th June 6.30pm – late at Dukes Meadow Golf Club. Tickets for this event are now on sale. Please invite your friends, we need to fill the place. If you can book a table of 10 so much the better. Please email the office.
