Dear Friends

It was a joy to watch this morning as the first person received their COVID vaccination. Such a simple act, how many times have we all received a vaccine and thought nothing of it. Yet today marks the beginning of a long road towards normality – whatever our new normal might look like. The scientists have achieved something quite remarkable and all in the space of less than twelve months. They deserve our thanks and admiration. However there is still a long and difficult journey ahead of us and we must not relax our guard, the virus is all around us. I was saddened to hear the news this week that St Mary’s convent and nursing home has after being free of the virus for so long found a small number of residents and staff test positive. We must pray for them as they are forced to lock down for the next few weeks.

Christmas is almost upon us, please visit our website for more information about our range of Christmas services and how to book tickets.

This coming Sunday sees the first of our Christmas offerings, our parish Zoom Nativity play –  “We live in unprecedented times”. This year children and adults meet together to offer our version of the nativity, is been a joy to rehearse and it will be a joy to perform. If you want to watch, please email the parish office for a Zoom link.

Please be extra careful over the next few days and weeks, stay safe and God Bless.

Simon
